Will weekly jobless claims exceed 260K for the week ending on November 27?
This is a market on whether the number of Americans that filed initial jobless claims will exceed 260,000 for the week ending on Saturday, November 27, 2021. An initial claim is a claim filed by an unemployed individual after a separation from an employer. The claim requests a determination of basic eligibility for the Unemployment Insurance program. This market will resolve to “Yes” if the United States Department of Labor reports that there were more than 260,000 seasonally adjusted initial claims for unemployment insurance for the week ending on November 27, 2021. Otherwise, if this number is equal to or lower than 260,000 this market will resolve to “No”. The resolution source for this market will be the United States Department of Labor’s Weekly Unemployment Insurance Claims report for the week ending on Saturday, November 27, 2021, expected to be released on Thursday, December 2, 2021, 8:30 AM ET. Resolution of this market will take place upon release of the aforementioned data. If data is not available by December 9, 2021, 12:00 PM ET, this market will resolve 50-50.
