Will the Digital Commodities Consumer Protection Act (DCCPA) become law by Dec 31?
For several years, the SEC and CFTC have struggled with ambiguous jurisdictions over the digital commodities sphere. The Digital Commodities Consumer Protection Act of 2022 is designed to resolve this issue. Recently CEO of FTX Sam Bankman-Fried has come under fire for his involvement in the DCCPA, with critics alleging he does not have DeFi's best interests at heart. If S.4760 - Digital Commodities Consumer Protection Act of 2022 is signed into law by December 31, 2022, 11:59:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Yes”. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the United States Congress (e.g. the "Became Law" flag here https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/4760/text?r=3&s=1), however other credible reporting may also be considered.
